2 Cinnamon Chips and Fruit Salsa

How have I not shared this yet?? I first learned about this delicious appetizer a couple years ago from my friend, Kara! She served it at a baby shower we hosted for Abbi. . . I had one chip and immediately asked for the recipe, went home, AND MADE it for Nate! :-) Yes, it was THAT good! (and Nate became an instant fan. . . fruit, cinnamon-sugar, butter, and tortillas. . . what more could you ask for?!)

Kara had the same recipe as Allrecipe.com (which is the recipe that I have made and LOVED) but Our Best Bites has a couple more options in fruit and sweeteners for the fruit! So, check out Our Best Bites too!!

2 kiwis, peeled and diced
2 Golden Delicious apples -diced (cut these last)
8 oz raspberries
1 lb strawberries
2 tbs white sugar
1 tbs brown sugar
3 tbs fruit preserves (any flavor)
10 (10 inch) flour tortillas
butter flavored cooking spray (or butter)
2 cups cinnamon sugar
1. In a large bowl thoroughly mix kiwis, apples, raspberries, strawberries, white sugar, brown sugar and fruit preserves. (Kara normally puts the fruit in a food processor so it is more of a liquid consistency. I have tried the food processor fruit salsa and the "diced" fruit salsa and both are amazing!) Cover and chill in the refrigerator at least 15 min.
2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
3. Coat one side of each flour tortilla with butter flavored cooking spray. Cut into wedges and arrange in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Sprinkle wedges with desired amount of cinnamon sugar. Spray again with cooking spray. (another option that I have done. . . grab a stick of butter and spread the butter on both sides of the tortilla. Have a plateful of cinnamon sugar mixture and rub the buttered tortilla in the cinnamon sugar mixture (on both sides) until thoroughly coated. Then cut into wedges.)
4. Bake in oven for 8-10 minutes. Repeat with any remaining tortilla wedges. Cool for 15 minutes. Serve with chilled fruit mixture.

  1. I've made this before and it was such a hit! I used the spray butter, too -- you couldn't even tell the difference!
