Since we loved Joanna's Grands Taco Melts so much. . . I was thinking, what else could I stick inside of a biscuit?? And came up with this. . .
Sausage, Egg, and Cheese "Kolaches!"
Joanna told us that the wheat biscuits were amazing but I didn't want to push my luck with Nate during the first taste test of the Grand's Taco Melts! So this time, I used wheat and white biscuits and . . . Nate thought they were pretty good (no trace of "cardboard" at all! ;-)
These "kolaches" would be a perfect breakfast for a crowd, something easy to send with your early morning hunter, or a great mid-morning snack on a car trip during Spring Break!
Sausage, Egg, and Cheese "Kolaches"
1/2 c cheese
6 eggs
3 containers of biscuits (24 total)
Brown the sausage and set aside. Scramble 6 eggs with 1/2 cup of cheese. Combine sausage and cheese. Press each biscuit into a 6 inch round. Spoon the egg mixture into each biscuit. Fold dough over eggs and press to seal. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake 15 to 20 min at 350 degrees.
