4 Deer Hunter's Chili

This is the ultimate cold weather chili. Any man would LOVE this hearty recipe, and yes, ladies, you will too! I have deer sausage in the recipe but have included how to make this chili even if your freezer isn't packed with game! Nate and I had fun putting this chili together tonight and now we are waiting on the snow!
Deer Hunter's Chili
1 pound ground beef
1 pound ground deer sausage (or use 2 pounds of ground beef)
3 cups chopped deer link sausage (if excluding deer sausage, then don't include salsa)
32 oz tomato sauce
15 1/4 can whole kernal corn, drained
15 1/4 can white corn, drained
10 oz diced tomatoes, not drained
1 tsp minced garlic (2 cloves, minced)
1 Tbs chili powder
1/2 tsp pepper
2 Tbs taco seasoning
2 cups salsa (don't include if not including the link sausage)
Brown ground beef in a skillet. Drain grease then put beef in the slow cooker. Repeat with ground deer sausage. To cook deer link sausage, place links in a large skillet with water covering the links. Heat skillet until the water is boiling. Continue to have a rolling boil until sausage expands and the center is cooked completely. Cut into 1/2 inch slices and then quarter each slice. (it is important that each piece of link sausage is small and bite sized). Add the rest of the ingredients and seasonings. (Do not add salsa if you are not including the link sausage.) Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours. Top with sour cream and cheddar or cheddar jack cheese.(if using the stove put all ingredients in a large pot and simmer for over an hour. The longer it cooks, the better it is!)
