2 Dump Cake

One of my sweet friends made this Dump Cake last weekend and Nate literally could not get enough of it (so much so, that we brought the leftovers home and he finished it off while we were watching the Biggest Loser. . . Jillian would not have been happy with him!) This is an old recipe past down from generation to generation but the Pioneer Woman has such great pictures that I am just going to cite her for this delicious and SUPER easy dessert! Seriously, if you hate cooking, can't bake, burn everything you touch (you get my drift), this is a recipe you can succeed with! You literally just open cans and boxes and dump everything in a 13x9 pyrex! (hence the name DUMP cake!)
Since this Dump Cake was such a hit with Nate, I decided it would be a perfect dessert for our lunch tomorrow at school! Have I said today how much I love my school and the friends I work with? We have PTA lunches that are OUT OF THIS WORLD, cookies from Tres Market, "pot luck" meals about once a month, food delivered from neighboring restaurants and there are constantly homemade goodies around our teacher's lounge. What do you do to break up the monotony of the week? (ours mainly revolve around food! :-)

(Since first publishing this post I found my family recipe of Dump Cake in a church recipe book. . . so I am giving you both versions!
Dalton Family Dump Cake
1 can (20 Oz.) Crushed Pineapple, drained
1 can (20 Oz.) Cherry Pie Filling
1 box Yellow Cake Mix, dry
1 cup pecans, chopped
2 sticks Butter, melted
In a 9x13 inch ungreased Pyrex dish, dump the ingredients in this order; Pineapple, cherry pie filling, yellow cake mix, pecans, butter (drizzle all over ingredients). Do not mix! Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. (My dad warns, "Lock all the doors to the house. this one tends to draw the neighbors!")

Pioneer Woman Dump Cake
1 can (21 Oz.) Cherry Pie Filling
1 can (15 Oz.) Crushed Pineapple
1 box (about 18 Oz.) Yellow Or White Cake Mix
1 stick Margarine
½ sticks Butter
Dump cherry pie filling and crushed pineapple into baking dish. Stir together.
Sprinkle cake mix over the top of the fruit. Slice margarine and butter and distribute over the surface of the cake mix.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour until top is bubbly!
